Zigen is looking for a Video Hardware Design Engineer who will be part of new product design, board level architecture, implementation, and test of digital and or analog video processing hardware for interfacing products. The design work will include researching / specifying components, schematic development, PCB layout guidance, board bring-up, interfacing and collaboration with other engineering groups (Firmware, Power, and Mechanical), and working with product management during product design cycles.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of demonstrable video hardware design experience
• Experience in Altera CPLD/FPGA design and algorithm creation
• Proficient in Verilog
• Experience designing embedded products
• Experience with high-speed digital design
• Experience interfacing with microcontroller, DDR memory and peripherals (I2C, SI, RS232, USB)
• Experience in coding 8051 and ARM processor architectures within RTOS environment
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital video interfaces, especially HDMI, DisplayPort, and SMPTE video standards
• Experience in embedded networking design via Ethernet and wireless (BT/Wifi)
• Strong hardware debugging skills and root-cause failure analysis
• Schematics capture, layout a plus
• Excellent communication skills, (written, and verbal)
• Strong attention to details, highly organized, computer literate
